I inquired about a scalping problem on the NH 914a belly deck and was told to ask about campaign #476. Does anybody know what this entails?

contact your new holland dealer.mine got recalled last year to have some modifacation done to it.today i took it back to have the deck replaced.after they did the mod.it never cut the grass clean so i complained.the service manager contacted NH and they agreed to replace the deck using my old parts.the way it was explained to me was if i wanted it replaced they would do it,but it wasn't a manditory recall.good luck ....

I am using a new 914A mid-mount deck. I searched the market to find a fabricated deck - most are stamped steel. After initial use, one of the stub shafts for the rear roller wheels broke free - it was just tack welded. I find no blame with NH. I deal with fabricators daily, and fabricated machinery in a shop can experience missed finished welds. I love my fabricated deck. It is something that can be easily repaired with standard welding units. I have experienced no scalping problems, but after having four different tractor systems and decks, all have the need to know your deck and its capabilities! Good luck, and "Boomer" to you! ....

I have a NH33D (Great Tractor!)w/60" NH 914a deck. I caught a downed power line and jamed the center blade. After I freed the blade I noticed a slight clunking sound when the mower is either spinning up or down. Or is running at very low RPM's. I checked the blades and the belt. I'm afraid it might be the gear box or driveline. Once the mower is up to speed it seems fine.Can anyone assist me with this issue.

Last year I had a similar problem. Only I caught a small stump between the center blade and the sheet metal guide around the blade. The stump bent the sheet metal, and caused the tip of the blade to hit it. At low speeds you could hear the clicking, but at full rpm, it wasn't noticable at all. Sooo, my advise would be to turn the deck over and see if your blade tip path is not hitting that metal. ....

Thanks Greg....I checked under the deck. The blade seems not to contact anything by rotating it by hand. I'll recheck it again.
